Were you ever able to verify with Chris about shipping from Canada?

I'm not familiar with Canada post but you could try seeing if they have any international flat rate options that will fit your material or if there are standard sizes that cost less. If that doesn't work, find the smallest box you can fit everything in and use their cost calculator.

Oh!

Depending on the situation I'll:
-box everything separately and then tetris those boxes into the shipping box.
-get all of one material in the shipping box and then box the remaining materials and tetris them in
-bag material only if it will pack together so tightly that it won't budge in transit
-use a piece of cardboard wedged into the box to separate material

Boards have a tendency to shred bags, especially if the boards can jostle in the box(es), and may result in mixed material. Your goal is to have the material arrive still sorted, do whatever you think it'll take.

I also tape every edge of a box to help hold the box together in the event it takes a hard hit anywhere along the way.
